Sactuary Animals

Over the years we have welcomed 6 horses into our rescue, 3 tortoises, 2 pigs and 3 ferrets. 

These animals will remain with us as they are not always the easiest to place therefor the way we ensure their safety is to keep them with us. 

Diva: No longer with us but forever in our hearts! 27 year old OTTB, she came from the kill pen so her history before coming to us was unknown. We worked with our sister rescue Smitten Stables  to get her into our rescue. She was full of love and SAS, we nick names her Sasafrass. We miss her dearly. 

Juliette: 22yr old percheron. She came into rescue after her owner passed away. She was another We worked with Smitten Stables in 2019

to get her into our rescue. Juliette lives a 95% retired life and head of the herd. Every now and then we will take a ride with her. However, she enjoys being pasture Queen. 

Holly: 14yr old American Mini came from the kill pen in 2015. Shortly after rescue from the kill pen she ended up with our sister rescue SmittenStables. In 2016 Holly Joined us.

Huey: Huey is 24yrs old and 

lived half of his life in an Equine therapy program. When the facility closed down Huey was purchased by a wonderful who got him into our sister rescue. In 2016 Huey and Holy joined us together. Huey is such a sweet boy. Unfortunately he suffers from navicular syndrome, arthritis and bone spurs. We keep him comfortable with routine hoof care and working side by side with our Equine vet. 

Karnival: In 2020 Karnival joined us when the farm we were boarding at was getting ride of him. He was in terrible shape. Body score of a 1.5, rain rot, arthritis and in dire need if a dental. After about 4 months of proper vetting and good nutrition he was almost unrecognizable. Karnival is 23 yrs old and has a very puppy dog personality. 

Chevy: 12 yr old OTTB who came to us a few months ago as his owners had some medical issues and before they could no longer provide for him they sought out a rescue. Chevy lived 7 years by himself. He is VERY happy to be apart of the herd and enjoys having a job. 

Big Red: Red is our newest rescue. He was found in a kill pen in 2022 by his original owner and she went and got him right away and sought our a final home for him. We welcomed Red with open arms. Red has a sponsor who he enjoys ALL the TLC he gets from her.
